Danny Meyer, the famed restauranteur behind beloved New York dining institutions such as Shake Shack, The Modern, Gramercy Tavern, and Union Square Café, has become a leader and a pioneer in the hospitality industry.
As CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group, which has more than a dozen restaurants, Meyer has spoken out about the “transforming power of hospitality in business” and in 2006, he even wrote a book about it, called Setting the Table. Most recently, he also became one of a handful of chefs to employ a no-tipping policy at his restaurants, which he is rolling out on a restaurant-by-restaurant basis.
And on Nov. 9, Meyer came to New York University’s Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism to speak about “Enlightened Hospitality: The Transforming Power of Putting People First.”

Hospitality market: Jeddah ‘boasts strong resilience’ | Arab News
Jeddah’s hospitality market is expected to witness the entry of more than 5,333 hotel keys between 2016 and 2018, primarily represented by 5- and 4-star properties, each accounting for 51 percent and 31 percent of total forthcoming supply, respectively.
It said that the fourth quarter of 2015 witnessed the opening of three internationally branded serviced apartments, all of which are operated by The Ascott Ltd., namely the Ascott Tahlia (125 keys), the Ascott Sari (52 keys), and the Citadines Al-Salamah (136 keys)....

Tourism push spurs growth in hospitality sector - Arab News
The Kingdom’s hospitality sector is witnessing phenomenal growth with tourist accommodations gaining in terms of the number of facilities, size of the investment, private sector regulatory development and increased job opportunities for Saudi youth.
A Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH) official said Monday that the number of hotels and furnished condominiums in 2004 stood at 2,139 facilities, which jumped to 5,868 by the end of 2015. Likewise, the number of hotel rooms rose from 104,380 to 281,563 by the end of 2015, he added
The total number of tourism sector employees also doubled by the end of 2015 to 11,348, out of whom 28 percent are Saudis.......
