  2. A saudi friend working with us at tvtc told me his son goes to a public high school in Jeddah. His sons saudi math teacher posts the class home work every week on his blog. All sudents are required to check the home work on the blog, even those who were absent don't have an excuse for not doing their homework. That was one good example of how blogs can be used.

Actually, we use blackboard at JCT. as you know this application is used in most respected education institutions, it's very efficient, so we are fully updated, we can do through this system homework, assignments, quizzes final exam and communication. Unfortunately, some is unwilling to shift to the new way and adopt the new techniques. But the mainstream is hitting the right way.
For that I suggest this website to be as reference for both students and faculty. Sharing ideas, videos, materials, etc

  4. We can have a blog contest, where students are asked to prepare a three minute presentation on a topic related to hotel or tourism . The presentation will be recorded and shared on youtube and the winner gets a gift or trophy.

  5. Blogs can work well for higher education. We used edmodo in our program . Some teacher's used it for some time, then they stopped.

Blogs on the other hand are open to the public and you can built an online community. Social media is a powerful tool and blogs are a social media tool.

Every post can be shared easily on twitter and Facebook and other social media platforms. People with the same interest can join the blog and comment and help extend the blog conversation.
